The first video in probably a four part series on making a carving workbench for my wife. This video covers making the glue laminated top from maple. It has a tail vise centered in the 36″ wide top.

Paul Jenkins says:

That is one solid workbench top! I always enjoy seeing the multi-router in action. Looks like its carvers-bench-building-month, Krtwood has just finished his, and I put the leg sub assemblies for mine in clamps a little over an hour ago

Darren Roberts says:

Nice bench, ive just got into carving myself, does your wife have a youtube channell too so i can pick up some tips?

Luvenia Waiters says:

Let's check woodprix handbook if you want to make it cheaper and better.

Myrkskog says:

That's gorgeous.

Jeff Forbes says:

Can't wait to see the finish! Thanks for sharing.

Dread Knot Woodshop says:

Brian, another beautifully crafted piece. your work is amazing as always!

WB Fine Woodworking says:

Very interesting build. Now I know for sure that one of those vises is not what I want to use for my workbench. I’m thinking something like the wagon vise on your workbench would be better.

Robert Langley says:

I quit watching this cause, who TF has this much room with all these tools. This was like watching an β€œAssembly Line” at a factory. I watch YouTube channels to learn how to do things with normal home shop tools and such. Stuff like this kinda perturbs me I think because I believe people like this just want to show off their toys. Obviously this guy knows what he’s doing, f’n showoff. hahahahaha

Hey I'm a Maker says:

Fred McIntyre says:

Nice work Brian! πŸ‘πŸ‘Š

Dan Fuller says:

I had never heard of the drum sander trick before glue up before. One more reason to keep that tool on my wish list.

Scott Hampshire says:

Classy work Brian, really the best.

Thomas Russell says:

I am interested in one of your dovetail saws. Is there a site I can visit? What is your general price? I'm on a fixed income and disabled, so I might have to save up for a few months.
The bench top looks great, where did you get the code mechanism?
