Making Picket Hinges with NO Specialty Instruments – Joint of the Week

Get the Katz-Moses Magnetic Dovetail Jig right here:
This weeks woodworking joint is the Picket Hinges with NO Specialty Instruments. I tries to make two varieties, common hinges and a stopped hinges just like the brusso model. The primary one got here out nice. All you want is a roundover bit, a field joint jig and a few elbow grease. The stopped hinge was somewhat trickier however I plan on revisiting and figuring out the kinks within the close to future. Let me know within the feedback what joint you’d prefer to see subsequent week. Thanks for watching! Please like, remark and subscribe. Cheers!

Hey, Jonathan, Great Job! Thanks for the tips. Here's one for you. You know how you say "stay safe", at the end? You need to stay safe too. You don't wear a respirator. I just got over a scare. I was told a few months ago that I had some inflammation in my lungs. I didn't used to wear a respirator all the time, but I am now. Aspiring woodworkers are watching you. I know you want to set a good example. I saw your tribute vid about you new baby, so you're a real man, who is caring. We don't mind seeing a mask on the face. Much rather see that, than hear you have lung issues. Justs saying. I'm waiting another3 months to see if everything clears up in my lungs. Good news, no cancer. Praise GOD! Just think about it

Samuel Nasta says:

"You really don't need any special tools for this"
But used: table saw, vertical drill, router, jig, finger joint cutter disc set, manual planer, grinder, belt sander.
ONLY this ¬¬

Dislike just because of the clickbait and for wasting my time watching something that I surely cannot make until I hava a wood shop.

Maurice Calis says:

Your video production is great; editing, angles, audio; everything is spot on. I like how you rolled out the hi-end for the music right after 4:55 to hear you talking. Cool effect.

Nice video Friend! Thank you for sharing it with us.👍😎JP

Neil Christiansen says:

Very nicely done. I think you and I however have different definitions of what is a specialty tool. Someday I hope to have a shop full of those non specialty tools

Rodrick Barrows says:

Awesome. I. Am an amateur woodworker. After having to retire from law enforcement and the Army National Guard due to medical injuries, part of my therapy has been wood working. I am learning so much from your videos, thank you so very much Sir. You are an awesome teacher and a true artist.

Justin Limoges says:

Love it Jonathan! Maybe I missed it but did you mention how to secure the brass rod in place? Maybe a little epoxy in one of the end pieces?

DIYDAD says:

Sufiness says:

I love this project but don't enjoy music or slo-mo. Just my preference I guess, but in case you're wondering what people like. I think the projects are exciting enough. And I enjoy quieter things that aren't hyped with music. I've been looking around for a woodworking channel that doesn't add music. If anyone knows of one please respond here. ASMR woodworking 😊
