Are brushless energy instruments that a lot better than common energy instruments? On this video I examine the efficiency of a Ridgid 18v Brushed motor gen4x affect driver to the Ridgid 18v brushless motor gen5x to see if there’s a large distinction or if it’s a waste of cash.

Good video. Thanks for the review!

HandyWyo says:

Brushless is 3 phase. And the design is basically flipped. The mosfets and computer chip tells where the wires need to fire, many times a second. No need for the brushes or commutator like a brushed device

Thomas Carroll says:

I got both Ridgid impact drivers my gen 4 brushed burned out and the gear case broke but I. Do have the Gen 5 brushless still r86037b I even got the BOSCH idh182 I won it but I do say that the Ridgid got more torque but the Bosch runs quieter and smoother Bosch has only one core 6.3 ah battery that came with the kit and for Ridgid I use a 4.0 ah I haven't felt a need to get a 3.0 octane for that Ridgid I still got the drill that came in my original kit r86008 that's brushed awesome video thank you

Pete Nilsen says:

Thanks for comparison. I have 5 of the kobalt 24v brushless tools and love them. Batteries charge fast and last longer than any of my old chargables ever did.

Ádám Elekes says:

You did not test the torque specs! Also, driving in double amount of screws does not mean it is worth the extra expense to me. it means that I have to charge the battery more often. However, if someone needs the extra torque it can deliver…

my friend thank you… nice

Wow that is a significant difference! And you were so sceptical in the beginning 😆
