Thank you for your presentation!

HeimBastler Micha says:

😮😮😮 The thing is certainly very expensive! 😮😮😮

blake makison says:

after watching this video, i sharpened every blade in the shop while i was waiting on some glue-ups to dry.

joseph petty says:

Pro tips are the best tips!!!

Stuart Landrigan says:

I use the Veritas guide as well. I cannot get a consistent angle freehand like I can with the guide.
Windex is great as well. Lubricates like water and limits rusting.

Small Workshop Guy says:

Another good one – thanks you for the quality videos!

Franks DIY says:

Looks like I'm going to have to buy some good chisels and sharpening accessories to go with that jig of yours. Great demo and explanation Katz

djnevous3us says:

I need mine like that

Joe Baker says:

Another great video

The Dovetail Dad says:

You should sharpen free hand! Yay! I'm the best! Phew, I was worried about that.

Junk Name says:

why windex? it's not really a lubricant

Dan Letkeman says:

I have the same sharpening jig. It works very well, however, I never use it because it takes too long to setup vs freehand sharpening. I only go back to the jig after a bunch of freehand sharpening sessions due to the fact that tool eventually gets out of square.

Bobby Ferrell says:

Lmao, your the best! Seriously, good stuff man.

Graham Parsons says:

Have to say sharpening of chisels ain't my strong point, but you do make it look easy. I think I will have to invest in some diamond stones one day when the funds allow, I would imagine they are a one time investment if you look after them? 👍👍

Le PicBois says:

Just got my Veritas champ training with my bro Vic Tesolin. As it’s still fresh I can tell you that your technique is on point! 🥰 Awesome prod as always man!

Myrkskog says:

Regarding soaking waterstones, just make sure with your particular stone what the manufacturer recommends. Generally high grits aren't to be soaked, just wiped wet.

Colin Hawkins says:

Here's a dumb thing I did the last time I sharpened one of my chisels. The tool was new, so I was really going in on it to get the back flat. I was using it to chisel something soft like pine and really wanted a good edge. After I got done sharpening (bevel and back) I started chiseling again. My hand was choked up on the end of the chisel and I ended up with a cut from a cutting edge I created (by accident?) where the back meets the side. I didn't know that could happen. Did I do something wrong, or is that just something that can happen with certain chisel shapes?

Jake M says:

I refuse to believe you could throw in that many "just the tip" and "strokes" in one video on accident. Gave me a chuckle. Excellent video, I look forward to the next. Innuendo filled or not

ww s says:

Hullo young man, I have one of these jigs and as you say they are spot on every time. the down side is trying to keep the chisel or plane iron square. I have seen this problem brought up by other user's. Now, why not make yourself a little workstation, that way your stone's (careful) won't slide all over the place. PS, use a smaller bucket, less mess to clear up. Until the next time BIG GUY, keep em swinging.
