Part II Final:
In this video, we are going to jump right into the woodworking. This first project is a handy addition to any shop, large or small. This is a very basic workbench with a lot of features. It can be built with or without drawers, and I will walk you through every calculation of just how to make them.
I think there are many ways to learn woodworking, and the way that I prefer is a hands on approach. I think the quicker you can jump into a project, the funner it will be, and the faster you will learn. We are all going to make mistakes woodworking. And the best way to find that out, and get better is by starting with a project that has materials that aren’t too expensive. And, a project that will stay with you, is good too. This way you develop skill, so that by the time you are making for others, your quality has improved.
This bench has some features of fine woodworking projects as well. Such as the creation and installation of drawers. So all around, I think it’s a good starting point.

nice work family

Jeff Chaffin says:

Hi James, nice build. i have to say though, i was less than pleased with the amount of glue that was used in this project. hahahahaha

Doug Stevens says:

Always enjoy your presentation and the time put into the narration and production. Apologies if I missed this, was there a camphor edge on the feet to avoid any tear out when sliding across the floor?
Another question, if I may, when clicking on the Amazon link, often times I would place an item into a wish list for a later purchase. Then at a later date, I would purchase the item; do you still get something when purchased that way? How how about when someone purchases a gift for me using my wish list?

Matthew Sabella says:

Great work James. As a new woodworker I always get a few helpful tips out of these videos.

Excellent. Love your narration.

Great project. I was getting worried you had run out of glue there for a minute!

Daniel Lawson says:

The face book group is great one of my favorite groups I belong to and I now see the photo bomber has arrived too lol Hi Sai.

WB Fine Woodworking says:

This is a great project for the beginning woodworker. The branch is very sturdy and offers some storage. It could easily be modified to have a full set of drawers instead of the shelf at the bottom and the drawers could be different depths. Personally I find shelves under tables or benches often get too cluttered with stuff.

Small Workshop Guy says:

Just wanted to compliment you on your voiceover – nicely done! Always learn some good woodworking tips from your videos.

Thanks again James and family, very informative and detailed.
